Soul Urge/Heart’s Desire Number

Standard

The Soul Urge (or Heart’s Desire) number is one of the five core number’s in a Numerology report which include; Life Path number, Destiny/Expression number, Soul Urge/Heart’s number, Personality number and Day number. This number shows you the inner you, your true motivation, your inner cravings and urges, likes and dislikes.

For the Soul Urge number we only consider the vowels A, E, I, O, U (and sometimes Y) in your given first, middle and last name.

DO use the letter “Y” as a VOWEL when:

  • when Y serves as a vowel and sounds like a vowel , or when Y is the only vowel in the syllable (Mary, Carolyn, Betty)
  • when Y precedes another vowel in a syllable and provides the vowel sound (Bryan, Wyatt)

DO NOT use the letter “Y” as a VOWEL when:

  • when Y follows another vowel, and it doesn’t provide for a separate vowel sound (Murray, Hayley)
  • when the syllable has another vowel (except when Y precedes another vowel in a syllable and provides the vowel sound)
  • when the Y is used in place of a J sound ( Yamaha, Toyota, Yoda)

By using the chart below, locate the vowels in your name, total the sum and reduce until a single digit is achieved. If you arrive at a Master Number, (11, 22 etc) respectively reduce to a single digit.

A = 1

E = 5

I = 9

O = 6

U = 3

Y = 7

For example:

J a n e M a r i e  D o e

  1     5     1  9 5     6  5

1+5+1+9+5+6+5 = 32

3+2=5

Soul’s Urge number is 5

Soul Urge 1

Those with 1s in their chart are more likely to try new avenues, take risks, and venture out into unknown territories.
